Late Version 1950 Pattern Portuguese Colégio Militar Military School Shako To the fore is a brass metal regimental badge that reads CM, a crown sits atop. The top & lower rims are made of patent leather. Around the top rim sits a cord cockade (coloured orange & white) pinned by a small steel stud to the fore. It sits in front of the red pompon.
The leather chin strap is attached to the helmet via brass buttons attached to the sides. The peak is of black patent leather peak. The interior of the cap retains its original leather sweatband and the remains of the cream silk liner, 1967 is written in pencil along the back edge. Dimensions The shako is 10.5 inches (26.7 cm) long (with its visor) and 7 inches (17.2 cm) wide. It has a inner circumference of 22 inches (54.03cm).
Condition There is some minor wear to the leather, though the shako remains in otherwise excellent condition. The plume is incorrect, it should be green.
