The ALICE Pack Universal Size consists of a Pouch with draw cord closure and Five outside pockets. Three Utility Pocket with strap and buckle adjustable closures and with snap fasteners for quick access, are provided for miscellaneous items. Two Bigger Pockets are provided at the side of the Rucksack for carrying Radio or some other necessary Day Supply. The ALICE Pack Universal Size must be used with the LC-1 Field Pack Frame.

One, aluminum, vertical member, also made from flat stock, is riveted to the top and the bottom of the frame. Toward the top of the frame, this vertical piece and the aluminum tubing are angled toward the wearer's back. Two metal loops are attached to the top, horizontal, tubular portion of the frame. These are used to retain one end of the shoulder straps.
