Vintage Large Swedish Military Canvas & Leather Rescue Equipment Bag - 1968. Vintage Large Swiss Military Canvas & Leather Rescue Equipment Bag - 1968. This large canvas bag was used by the Swiss military to transport rescue equipment such as shovels and pickaxes. The bag has a leather base with a metal plate to keep it flat, along with a large leather strap and 2 smaller leather handles. There is also a drawstring around the top to keep the bag shut. The leather strap is embossed:'R. Steiger 1968 BERN'CROSS' Sz' There is also a large metal tag on the top which reads:'A Rettungsmaterial' This translates to'Rescue Materials' There is also a list of what would have been included in the bag on the other side.
